It starts with a sunny day with a pale white blue sky, the air is hot and humid and seems to crackle with the promise of release. The white seemingly innocent clouds that filled the sky earlier in the day build into massive citadels stretching across the horizon, they seem to boil in the heat. The day draws to a close as the clouds move closer blackening the sky. First gray, then slate, then gray green, the sky is filled with rippling mammatus clouds as the wind starts to whip, tossing debris everywhere. Purple lightning flashes through the sky and hail pelts down with the torrential rains. Limbs break off trees as the streets flood. In the distance you hear the roar of a dropping tornado.
This necklace was inspired by an amazing storm that dropped on me the other day (the worst storm in the state apparently) and it was AMAZING! The pendant is Sterling Silver set with a very flashy Labradorite (the stone that has always represented lightning and storms for me) The necklace is triple stranded and is made from Labradorite, Smoky Quartz, Gray Agate, Purple Fluorite, Lapis, Black Agate, Iolite, Freshwater Pearls, Vesuviante, Peridot, Moss Agate, Blue Tiger's Eye, Rainbow Moonstone, Green Amazonite, Blue Chalcedony, Charoite, Sodalite, Tourmalinated Quartz, Blue Lace Agate, White Moonstone, Aquamarine, Nephrite Jade, Blue Aventurine, Black Tourmaline, Apatite, Peace Jade, Peach Moonstone, and Citrine. Each stone was chosen to symbolize an aspect of the storm. The necklace is finished with an Amethyst and Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp.
This necklace was created for 's Storms of Spring Contest [link] and took first place! [link]
This is so beautiful! I am absolutely in love with storms, and where I live is famous for them. It really feels like you caught the essence of storms in this piece.
